Nepal earthquake - latest news

Update 19 May 2015:
I'm afraid we've had the worst possible news from Nepal.
When the earthquake hit Haiti in 2010 the initial response was slow and unco-ordinated, and now 5 years on there are still piles of rubble where buildings used to be and many people living in temporary tented accommodation. We're determined this will not happen in Nepal.
Nepal is the third poorest country in the world, but due to its welcoming of travellers from Europe, dozens of fair trade companies work directly with Nepalese communities, including our suppliers Black Yak.
Fair trade is a marathon rather than a sprint but we can't operate without our lovely producers, some of whom are now homeless, so we're donating 10% of all our sales of Nepali goods to the appeal by our supplier and fellow BAFTS member Black Yak. They work directly with Nepalese people making sure they get what they need without your money being squandered on admin and taxes.
