The changing face of retail
Tuesday, 9 August 2016 | Joanna
The death of the British High Street has long been predicted and in the week we see the closures of hundreds of BHS stores we can see how things are changing.
We opened our pop up shop in Selby last October with an eye on the Christmas sales period, and continued until this week when ill health has forced us to close the shop full time.
However our partners were sorry to see us go, and we negotiated with them to retain a presence with best selling items and an option for online customers to "Click and collect" from the shop.
One invaluable piece of equipment for any retailer is a leaflet with your web shop details - customers love to see, touch and handle goods before making a commitment to buy, but sometimes they need a bit longer to make a decision. So the opportunity to go away from the shop and think carefully about what you would like to buy is really important.
Successful retailers know this, and smaller shops are often in the best place to respond to their customers' wishes. So we hope our customers aren't too disappointed that the shop will no longer be open full time, but with flexibility and negotiation we hope we can continue to provide the great service you need and expect from us.
The shop will be open every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10am to 3pm for you to browse, order and collect your Accessory Fair and Aztec Arts purchases.
