Traidcraft is one of the UK's leading Fairtrade brands and they have been breaking the rules of conventional trade for over 40 years.
This Organic, fair trade and rule-breaking arabica ground coffee is a dark roast with a light, floral sweetness (strength 4), made using a blend of beans from Honduras and Sumatra. Creating a dark roast with a light floral sweetness. It’s also roasted in the UK – just down the road from our HQ, at Ringtons in Newcastle, in fact.
Back in 1979, when unfair trade was the accepted norm, we broke rules to challenge and change this. 40 years on, Fairtrade-certified commodities line shelves of supermarkets up and down the country, but our work is far from done...So, we’re reclaiming fair trade – stripping it back to its purest form. We’re breaking all the rules and publishing publicly (on the front of the packet, for all to see!) exactly how much farmers are paid for their beans, how much goes into shipping, roasting and packing and how much profit we make. This makes our coffee, to our knowledge, the first coffee in the world to do this. Yes, this could be seen as radical and revolutionary, however, it’s simply real fair trade, as it was intended to be. We wonder, how many companies would treat you the same way?Did you know that the average price paid on the New York C coffee exchange for non-Organic coffee adds up to about 53p, for non-Organic, Fairtrade coffee, the agreed minimum price is 71p, and for Organic and Fairtrade coffee, the agreed minimum price is 84p. We are publicly declaring that we have paid £1.32 directly to the growers who harvested the beans in this coffee.*All prices above are per 227g bag, and before any country premiums are added or subtracted.
Suitable for Vegetarians
Best Before End: September 2021
The Fairtrade mark is the gold standard ethical mark. The producers of this coffee have received a fair price, plus a premium which is spent on community projects. Farms are inspected to ensure high welfare and environmental standards and no child or forced labour.

Once opened, squeeze the air out of the bag, wrap it tight around the remaining coffee and pop the pack into an airtight container. Store somewhere cool and dry – brew within 2 weeks of opening. Place in an airtight container, and use within two weeks.
Brewing – our coffees work wonderfully in most trendy coffee-making contraptions. As a general measure, we use about 15g (1 tablespoon) of coffee per 250ml cup. But you may like it stronger, shorter, milkier, icier who knows?

What Divine say about themselves…
Divine Chocolate is a global, farmer-owned chocolate company. We use the amazing power of chocolate to delight and engage. We bring people together to create dignified trading relations, empowering both producers and consumers.
It is Divine’s founding purpose to help farmers gain a share of the wealth they are helping to create, putting them higher up the value chain. In doing so, this creates a supply chain that shares value more equitably and serves as an example of a viable model for how to secure the sustainable future of cocoa and cocoa farming.
We are a small home based business.
We keep all stock at home, so when you place an order, we don't have to travel to collect or package your items. It's all done in our home office.
We package the majority of our goods in recycled plastic mailing bags. Originally we started doing this to protect against rainwater, but now it means you have the option to disinfect the package when it arrives in your home.
We have been strictly observing the government's advice and have been socially distancing - staying in apart from for essential trips - since 16 March.
As far as we can be sure, nobody who lives in or has visited our home has been ill since the outbreak hit the UK.
We use the Royal Mail and very occasionally Parcelforce for deliveries. We have a "Drop & Go" account so we don't have to wait in line or get within 2 metres of anyone when we post out your goods. As long as our local post offices are open, and we remain well, we will get your orders out. Like a lot of essential services, the Royal Mail is under pressure with staff self-isolating, so your parcel may not arrive as quickly as you would normally expect, None of this is normal, but we'll get through it together.
Artisans and producers in low income countries rely on fair trade to support their families. Fair trade has helped build some resilience into the communities we help in the form of better hygiene and sanitation, better nutrition and healthcare support. Most of the countries where our goods originate have banned exports and imports to limit the spread of the virus. This means workers are unable to get their work to us, and in some cases their workshops are closed. Our suppliers are continuing to pay for and place orders to keep their producers going through what we hope is a very short-lived period in our lives. In contrast, high street fashion companies in the UK have cancelled $1.5bn in orders with garment factories in Bangladesh, putting thousands of low paid women out of work.
The need for fair trade has never been clearer. Thank you for your support and stay safe and well.
