Linen Handbag - Aqua

This wonderful aqua linen handbag is stylish, high quality and fair trade - making it perfect for everyday use.

Handmade from durable Aqua coloured linen, the bag is fastened with a fold-over flap which is secured by a magnetic popper.

External design features are added by way of a Pink button to add a bit of colour to the front, and a fantastic dotted panel on the rear. This dotty design feature is made from cotton, and is also added to the underside of the fold-over flap, and the underside of the strap. The base of the bag is reinforced and also has four metal studs for added protection and support.

The straps of this bag are a design feature in themselves. They are actually one continuous strap feeding through holes in the top of the bag (these holes are metal ringed to ensure that there is no unnecessary wear to the bag). The strap is made from a metal chain in the centre portion, and linen / cotton at the ends, which gives a great combination of comfort and durability.

Whilst being a superb design feature, the strap also provides additional flexibility in how the bag can be worn. You can use both sides of the strap to carry the bag in a traditional handbag style (the straps are approx. 52cm long) - or you can extend the strap to approx. 70cm by pulling it through the holes and using one side of the strap only, making it long enough to comfortably go over your shoulder.

Internally the bag is lined with a lovely White with Grey pinstripe cotton, and has a central zipped compartment, large enough for your purse or other valuables. This compartment also serves to effectively split the bag into two internal sections. There is a further internal zipped pocket on one side, plus an open pouch on the opposite side - which is the perfect size for a mobile phone.

All-in-all, this is a wonderful bag which has been designed to look great, be practical to use, and to stand the knocks of day-to-day life.

Earth Squared has been working closely with a fair trade company based in Northern Vietnam for the past 10 years. We work together to ensure fair trade criteria are embedded into everyday working life.

Almost all of the artisans who make the products were originally rice farmers earning a subsistent, irregular and inconsistent wage. Working as a seamstress a woman can earn a good standard of living and also send their children to school and on to higher education. In addition our partners pay national insurance for each staff member that covers medical costs and provides a pension for retirement all of which is above the national legal requirements. The working conditions at the workshops are clean and safe and the staff have regular breaks and days off work.

The company give disadvantaged women the opportunity and support to improve their lives through secure work, training and a healthy working life giving them financial security and self-confidence. Each purchase helps us all to create more work opportunities for other disadvantaged women and change their lives and those of their families.

Royal Mail 2nd Class delivery is FREE in the UK, and your purchase should arrive 2 to 3 working days after posting (although this is not guaranteed). For only 50p extra you can upgrade to Royal Mail 1st Class, which usually delivers the next working day (although, again, this is not guaranteed).

If you would prefer a guaranteed next day delivery, you can upgrade to the Royal Mail's Special Delivery service at a cost of £5.50. This service is fully tracked and guarantees delivery of your purchase before 1pm on the next working day (Monday to Friday). If you spend £50 or more you will be automatically upgraded, free of charge, to our Next Day delivery service.

We only sell items that we have in stock, and therefore your purchase will be ready for immediate dispatch. Orders placed before 2pm (Monday to Friday) will be shipped the same day, and orders placed after this time will be sent the next working day.

Non-UK Customers:

Customers outside of the UK will have their order shipped by Royal Mail's Airmail service. The cost for delivery depends on the weight of the goods you are purchasing, and ranges from £2 to £20 - you can see the exact cost of shipping in the Shopping Basket before you checkout. Non-UK customers have the option to upgrade the delivery service to Royal Mail's International Signed For service, for an additional fee of £5.50.

Estimated delivery times are 3 days to Western Europe, and up to 7 days for the Rest of the World.
