|  Amparo Crafts are a wonderful addition to our roster of suppliers. When we first met their owner, Elizabeth, we were very impressed by the fair trade and eco mission she was undertaking with her company.
Not only are Amparo’s handmade bracelets and necklaces stylish and great quality, but they all come with impressive fair trade and eco credentials. On the label of every piece of jewellery you will find the name of the artisan who made it, you can then read their personal story on the artisan page on their website. What Amparo Crafts say about themselves… Amparo Crafts seeks to alleviate poverty in rural areas of Colombia through promoting conservation and fair trade. Amparo in Spanish means shelter and protection. We offer an income and a better way of life for those who have no alternative but to exploit the natural resources around them in order to provide for their families. We provide opportunities to local artisans, in particular women who live in extreme poverty, by training them to make environmentally friendly hand-made accessories such as fashion jewellery made with exotic seeds. The main project we support, by selling their products, is Women for Conservation. By buying products from Amparo you are both empowering these women and supporting conservation of the rainforest of Colombia.
