FAIR TRADE LINKS

If you would like to find out more about Fair Trade and Ethical Consumerism in general, please have a look at the websites listed below, which feature some of the most authoritative organisations in the field.

The British Association for Fair Trade Shops & Suppliers (BAFTS)

This is a member association for fair trade retailers, importers and wholesalers in the UK (All's Fair is a member of BAFTS).

The general public can use the BAFTS website to find fair trade shops that have been independently vetted to ensure that they comply with WFTOs 10 Principles of Fair Trade.

World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO)

WFTO is the organisation that co-ordinates the global fair trade movement. It is the guardian of fair trade values and principles through its 10 Principles of Fair Trade, and provides credibility through its international guarantee system.

WFTO’s mission is to enable producers to improve their livelihoods and communities through Fair Trade.

Fairtrade International

Fairtrade International is the organisation that sets the worldwide standards for, and co-ordinates the use of, the popular 'Fairtrade' label that we see on food and other products for sale around the world.

In the UK, fairtrade certification is co-ordinated by the Fairtrade Foundation.

Fair Trade Advocacy Office (FTAO)

The FTAO was created by WFTO, Fairtrade International and the European Fair Trade Association (EFTA) to speak out on behalf of the fair trade movement.

Its principal aim is to lobby the EU on Fair Trade and Trade Justice issues, and therefore this website is an excellent resource if you would like to understand more about EU policies and regulations on Fair Trade.

Ethical Consumer

Ethical Consumer’s mission is to make global business more sustainable through consumer pressure, which they do through a mix of education, campaigns and boycotts.

However (in our opinion) it is their Guides and Ethical Ratings of over 40,000 products, brands and companies that set them apart, as they are a wonderful resource to help you find just how ethical your products, and the companies that supply them, are.
